Expert second opinions, on-call

For those cases where you’ve wanted to get the second opinion or treatment recommendation of a respected peer, now you can.
 

Equine/Large Animal ECGs

This service is designed for equine, bovine and llama ECGs. Indications for this service include suspected arrhythmia and insurance and prepurchase exams. Your report typically provides detailed rate and rhythm diagnosis, identification of potential problems, and diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations (subject to specialist availability).

Full Consults (ECG/Echocardiogram/Radiographs)

A specialist provides a detailed written assessment of the patient’s ECG, echocardiogram and/or radiograph, in conjunction with patient medical history. The report provides diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations.

Routine Radiology Consults

A radiologist provides a detailed written interpretation of radiographs in conjunction with patient medical history. Prepurchase exams are also available.

An internist provides a detailed written interpretation of sonogram, ECG and/or radiographs in conjunction with patient medical history, lab work and previous reports.

Submit your request using the appropriate method below

Before submitting a case for the first time, please contact IDEXX Telemedicine Consultants at 1-800-726-1212 and one of our account managers will assist you with registration.

Submitting ECGs

Please do not submit ECGs by email.

1.  Fax your documents or laboratory reports to 1-888-357-0321 (domestic only) and 1-207-556-4493 (domestic and international).

2.  For faxing ECGs, mount all or as many leads as possible of the ECG. The mounted leads should be at least 8.5 inches long. Label the leads and include the paper speed that was used to record them.

3.  Go to vetmedstat.com and follow online instructions 1–4.

4.  Select Fax for how your ECG will be sent.

5.  Select Attach Fax(es)

6.  Select the fax(es) and click Assign selected to case. If no faxes appear:

  • Enter the fax number from which you faxed (including area code/country code) in the Faxed From field.
  • Click Search, the fax should then appear.
  • You will be given the option to associate that fax number with your clinic for future faxing.

7.  Click Next to review the summary of the case.

8.  Click Submit Case.

  1. Log into your account at vetmedstat.com .
  2. From the Home page, click the Start a New Case button and enter new patient information, or Look for Existing Patient, then click Next.
  3. Select the type of service(s) requested and patient condition, click Next to navigate from page to page.
  4. On the Notes page, under Additional Information, enter relevant history and presenting condition in the top box, then click Next.
  5. If the case includes an ECG, select the method for how your ECG will be sent.
  6. Click the Add File or Add Folder button to locate your images.
  7. Click the Upload button to attach your images to the case. When the upload is complete, if you are faxing documents, follow step #5 under Fax ECG, LabWork, or Documents below; otherwise, click Next.
  8. Review the summary page, then click Submit Case.
  9. If you intend to send an ECG using the teletransmitter, please call 1-800-347-8300 to transmit now.
Submitting Radiology/Full Consult Cardiology Case
  1. DICOM Send the select images from your preferred modality (x-ray machine, PACS, ultrasound, MRI or CT).
  2. Log into your account at vetmedstat.com. The case will appear on the home page under Attention: Cases for You to Complete. Do not click Start a New Case.
  3. Click Finish.
  4. Verify the patient information and update, as needed.
  5. Select the type of service(s) requested and patient condition, clicking Next to navigate from page to page.
  6. On the Notes page, under Additional Information, enter relevant history and presenting condition in the top box, then click Next.
  7. If the case includes an ECG, select the method for how your ECG will be sent.
  8. Verify all images have been received. Note: It may take several minutes for all images to appear. If you are faxing documents, follow step #5 under Fax ECG, Lab Work or Documents; otherwise, click Next.
  9. Review the summary page, then click Submit Case.
  10. If you intend to send an ECG using the teletransmitter, please call 1-800-347-8300 to transmit now.
  1. Log into your account at vetmedstat.com .
  2. From the Home page, click Start a New Case and enter new patient information, or Look for Existing Patient, then click Next.
  3. Answer questions related to type of services requested and patient condition or click Next and skip to Notes page to type in history. Click Next.
  4. Click the File or Folder button to locate your images.
  5. Click Upload to attach your images to the case.
  6. Submit your case.
